Research

I'm fascinated about the diversity and evolution of enigmatic (meiofaunal) micromolluscs.

My research focuses on different lineages of panpulmonate slugs and snails. I'm working on morphological adaptations which come along with habitat shifts (from sea to land or sea to freshwater) and examine poorly understood morphological structures.

My research methods include traditional histology combined with modern imaging techniques (e.g. SEM, TEM, µCT and 3D-modeling) and molecular methods.
